Urgent Appeal – Cholera Epidemic

There has been an outbreak of Cholera across Syria.

Our partner, Hand in Hand (registered UK charity) urgently need your help to get the situation under control and prevent a widespread epidemic of this deadly disease.

There have been 119 confirmed cases, with 18 deaths across Northwest and Northeast Syria.

Cholera spreads rapidly in areas without clean water supplies and can quickly become a fatal illness. If there isn’t an immediate and efficient response to this situation, there will be devastating mortality rates in the next few weeks and the healthcare system of the region will be put under enormous strain, causing yet more issues for those living in the region.

Our incredible partner, Hand in Hand (HiHFAD) , has initiated an emergency response plan. But they need your help to get funds in place to ensure this plan can go ahead.

Their plan includes providing access to safe water and improved sanitation, as well as vital cholera treatment supplies, and engaging community workers to help raise awareness for prevention of the spread of the disease.

100% of your donations will go towards Hand in Hand’s work to combat the spread of Cholera.

Please give what you can today.

Olena’s story

Olena’s story

Olena’s story

This is Olena.

On the 24th February 2022, Olena, Ukraine and those across the world, woke up to the news that a full-scale invasion had begun in her home country.

Olena decided to share her reality. Using her phone, she takes us through a day in her life, from preparing breakfast, to having to take her children to a bomb shelter.

This is her story.

It’s now been more than six months since the conflict began, and the winter months are approaching.

Since February, more than 13 million people, including 4.8 million children, have been displaced from their homes.

17.7 million people are in need of humanitarian aid.

During the colder months, so many people like Olena and her family rely on your support to keep warm and access basic essentials.

With your generous support, together we’ve raised $14,811,000 to support those impacted by the war on Ukraine. This money has been used to fund 75 partners working to support displaced people in Ukraine, as well as those in surrounding countries.

Since the war began, together, we’ve supported 2,170,000 people impacted.

Please keep choosing love and standing with Ukraine today by donating to our Ukraine Fundraiser today.

“Woman, Life, Freedom”: Solidarity with the People of Iran

“Woman, Life, Freedom”: Solidarity with the People of Iran

The world has been watching Iran as anti-Regime protests have intensified following the death of Jina (Mahsa) Amini. Mahsa was a 22-year-old Kurdish-Iranian woman on a family trip. She tragically died in the custody of Iran’s morality police, a wing of police that enforces mandatory hijab on Iranian women.

Since her death on September 16th, the people of Iran are courageously demanding freedom of choice, chanting: women, life, freedom! We have seen nationwide and global protests against the Regime in Iran. People in Iran are risking their lives to fight for the fundamental freedom of choice! Many inside and outside the country have been cutting their hair and burning headscarves in solidarity with women fighting a repressive and discriminatory regime.

In response, Iranian authorities have deployed security forces to halt and control these protests. The authorities use tear gas, live ammunition, batons, tasers, and water cannons on non-violent protestors. Hundreds of people have been detained, hundreds have been injured, and dozens have been killed. The exact numbers are unconfirmed due to a lack of coverage by independent investigative reports and internet shutdowns!

Instagram and WhatsApp, two of the last remaining international platforms in Iran, have been restricted. Mobile networks have also been disrupted, being shut off from evening till morning. The Regime is attempting to prevent footage of the realities of the protests, silencing many that have experienced intense police brutality.

We uphold the right to freedom and believe everyone can decide how they want to live. We stand in solidarity with the people of Iran and send our love to those who courageously step up for current and future generations!

Support the people of Iran with 3 simple yet powerful acts – which take less than 5 minutes!
