Olena’s story

by | 5th Oct 2022

This is Olena.

On the 24th February 2022, Olena, Ukraine and those across the world, woke up to the news that a full-scale invasion had begun in her home country.

Olena decided to share her reality. Using her phone, she takes us through a day in her life, from preparing breakfast, to having to take her children to a bomb shelter.

This is her story.

It’s now been more than six months since the conflict began, and the winter months are approaching.

Since February, more than 13 million people, including 4.8 million children, have been displaced from their homes.

17.7 million people are in need of humanitarian aid.

During the colder months, so many people like Olena and her family rely on your support to keep warm and access basic essentials.

With your generous support, together we’ve raised $14,811,000 to support those impacted by the war on Ukraine. This money has been used to fund 75 partners working to support displaced people in Ukraine, as well as those in surrounding countries.

Since the war began, together, we’ve supported 2,170,000 people impacted.

Please keep choosing love and standing with Ukraine today by donating to our Ukraine Fundraiser today.
