How green is our merch?

by | 13th Dec 2021

We only use organic cotton. The way it’s grown is better for the environment and reduces the impact on global warming.

All our merch is certified by:

  • GOTS (the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres)
  • OEKO-TEX® (an independent textile industry body that tests for product safety and sustainability)
  • PETA (vegan certified).

Our merch production and fulfilment process is also completely plastic free!

The cotton we use comes from farms in India. The ginning and spinning mills, where the fibre is separated from the cotton seeds and spun into thread, are also based in India, as is the factory that knits, dyes, washes, cuts, sews, and irons the merch.

Finally, everything is screen-printed in the UK – on demand, to reduce excess production and overall environmental impact – before being sent to our fulfilment centre (the warehouse that sends out your order).

The Fair Wear Foundation

Our sourcing factories are all part of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWR). The FWR is an independent organisation that works to improve labour conditions in factories. It has eight pillars of focus:

  • Employment is freely chosen
  • No exploitation of child labour
  • No discrimination in employment
  • A legally binding employment relationship
  • Payment of a living wage
  • Reasonable hours of work
  • Safe and healthy work conditions
  • Freedom of association

The production of our Choose Earth tees is a collaboration with online marketplace Reluv , who work with UK charities to collect the excess plain T-shirts that charity shops struggle to sell. We then cleanse and screenprint the tees, giving them a new lease of life. Each one is unique and sustainable, so you can spread the Choose Earth message with confidence.
