Our Top 5 Unique Christmas Gifts for 2022 that give a little extra

The holiday season has arrived!

From celebrating with friends and family, to wrapping presents and putting up decorations, the run-up to Christmas can be a magical time.

But in and among the holiday rush, it can be hard to find the perfect present.

That’s why we’ve put together some ideas for unusual festive gifts that really count from the Choose Love Shop, where everything you buy goes straight to refugees and displaced people around the world who need them most.

This winter, choose from our unique range of essential supplies and life-saving services and send them in the name of your loved ones for a gift with extra heart.

Here are 5 ideas for unique Christmas gifts you can buy at the Choose Love Shop this year…

1. Child’s Coat

We all know the difference a proper winter coat can make in freezing cold weather. For £10, buying this gift will make sure that a displaced child has a warm coat to stay cosy in this winter.

By gifting this essential winter coat in the name of a loved one, you’ll both feel the love this Christmas.

At just £10, we can’t imagine a better Secret Santa gift or stocking filler this year!

2. Hot Food

Christmas is a time for good food.

But, for many displaced people across the globe, access to hot meals isn’t guaranteed.

This festive season, make sure that displaced people are fed and nourished by buying Hot Food from the Choose Love Shop.

3. Reunite a family

To give even more Christmas magic, give the gift of Reuniting a Family to one of your loved ones this year.

Too often, families are separated while seeking asylum or fleeing their homes.

Buying this gift will allow families to access the legal support they need to be reunited with one another after months or even years of separation.

4. a choose love bundle

With displaced people in need of so many essential supplies this winter, it’s hard to choose just one item.

…so don’t!

We’ve put together two Choose Love bundles, the ‘Bundle of Warmth’ (packed with much-needed winter essentials) and ‘Bundle of Love’ (full of long-lasting support services), to give even more to those who need it most this Christmas.

Leave your stockings empty but make your hearts full by gifting Choose Love Bundles instead of stocking fillers on Xmas morning!

These supplies will provide essential support for displaced families this winter and we can’t think of a better way of sparking some joy on the big day.

5. choose love merch

Choose Love x Jane Porter present… the Choose Love Garden!

Choose Love x Jane Porter present… the Choose Love Garden!

Choose Love x Jane Porter present… the Choose Love Garden!

We are thrilled to announce our new collaboration with the incredible Jane Porter, who is using her award-winning horticulture skills to create the very first Choose Love Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower in May 2023!

This will be a garden like no other. Lovingly designed by Jane Porter (Gold-Medal Winner at the Chelsea Flower Show 2022) and funded by Project Giving Back, the Choose Love Garden is inspired by refugee migration routes across Europe and the concept of desire lines – paths we create when no formal routes exist.

Jane Porter’s design speaks to the relationship between travel and home. It includes a wind-activated kinetic sculpture, which conveys the uncertainty of the lives of displaced people, and a dry-stream bed path representing waterway migrations.

This incredible garden will be full of blossoming colourful flowers, as well as herbs originating from the Middle East, Afghanistan, and the Mediterranean, some of which will have been grown by refugee gardeners living in the UK!

When the RHS Chelsea Flower Show ends, The Choose Love Garden will be relocated to Good Food Matters, a community food learning centre, with a communal garden and kitchen based in Croydon. Here, the Choose Love Garden will continue to inspire connection as a space to meet, talk and forge friendships.

With its thoughtful design, the Choose Love Garden represents a new way of starting conversations about an incredibly important topic in the world today. What better way to spread the Choose Love message while showcasing the beauty of the world around us?

We can’t wait to see the Choose Love Garden in full bloom at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show next summer!

December update! Here’s what we’ve been able to do with your donations…

December update! Here’s what we’ve been able to do with your donations…

Since the Choose Love Shop opened…

We’ve seen lots of your lovely faces come through our doors and shop online. And, lots of wonderful people like you have bought essential supplies and life-changing services from our shop. Your generosity has been incredible!

Thanks to your donations, in the last few weeks we’ve raised thousands of pounds for refugees and displaced people across the globe. During the week of Black Friday, we reached our $100,000 match fund target, which meant we received an extra $100,000 from a generous donor. This will be used to fund our partners working on the ground across the world this winter.

So, we wanted to tell you what your generosity has achieved so far!

Here are some of the amazing things that our fantastic partners have been able to do in just the last few weeks…

In Italy, our incredible partner, Baobab Experience, provides vital assistance to asylum seekers who have just arrived in the country. In Rome, they set up a welcome point for refugees and displaced people and provided them with essential supplies and mental and physical support.

In the last few weeks, thanks to your donations, we sent £8000 to Baobab Experience for essential supplies including blankets, sleeping bags, warm winter clothing, children coats and washing essentials to help keep refugees and asylum seekers warm.

Our wonderful partner, SAWA, provides much-needed support for Syrian refugees living in Lebanon. They work in camps across the country, running schools for children, who would otherwise struggle to access education.

During recent weeks, your donations funded £5550 worth of crucial fuel, which will be used to keep SAWA’s schools warm, so that the children can keep learning this winter!

In the UK, our amazing partner Bloody Good Period fights for the rights of all people who menstruate, this includes refugees and asylum seekers for whom period products often become unaffordable ‘luxuries’. As part of their work, the Bloody Good Period team distributes period products to refugees and asylum seekers who desperately need them.

Thanks to your donations, in the last couple of weeks, we’ve been able to give £5000 to Bloody Good Period to distribute women’s supplies and period products to displaced people across the UK!

In Greece, when asylum seekers receive their refugee status, they often lose access to any kind of formal support. This leaves thousands of vulnerable people in insecure and often dangerous situations without basic access to necessities. Our incredible partner, Lighthouse Relief, offers support on the ground for these individuals, supplying them with hot food and other essential items, and connecting them with services that will help them get back on their feet.

In the last few weeks, your donations funded Lighthouse Relief with £1800, to spend on the distribution of vital food packs for vulnerable refugees in Athens over the winter.

We’re always amazed by what choosing love can do!

If you want to keep on sending essential supplies and life-changing interventions to displaced people across the world, head to our Choose Love Shop today!

Shop online or in person at 15-17 Foubert’s Pl, Carnaby, London, UK or The Seaport, 204 Front Street, NY NY 10038 and remember 100% of everything you buy goes directly to people who need it most.

The Choose Love Shop is BACK

The Choose Love Shop is BACK

The Choose Love Shop is BACK

Drum roll, please.

The Choose Love Store is now officially…

OPEN!

That’s right. We’ve gone and done it again. This November, for the 6th time, we’ve relaunched our infamous Choose Love Shop.

The Choose Love Shop is a store like no other – where you can buy essential supplies and life-saving interventions for refugees and displaced people across the globe.

This year the refugee crisis has reached new records, with more than 100 million people estimated to be displaced worldwide. The cost of food and fuel has increased globally and the invasion of Ukraine has displaced millions.

The winter also brings with it freezing temperatures, which makes access to heating fuel, warm clothes, and shelter essential.

We know you want to help. We do too.

This year, alongside vital items like hot food, life-saving medical treatment, and long-term accommodation, we’ve added items such as Disability Support, Heating Fuel, and Evacuations to make sure people can get the help they need right now.

All funds raised from the shop go to supporting displaced people from all over the world, including working in Greece, on the US/Mexico border as well as supporting our Ukraine Emergency Response.

Since we began in 2015, our one-of-a-kind shop has gained the support of big names such as Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, Carey Mulligan, and Michael Cain.

Watch this video to see exactly why they’re choosing to stand with us.

Join them today and purchase our life-changing items at www.Choose.Love, or visit our shops in London and New York.

For those of you in the UK, come and visit us at 15-17 Foubert’s Place W1F 7QB. Our doors are already open.

If you’re based in New York, we’re launching soon! Our in-person store will be opening soon, details to be announced shortly!

We can’t wait to see you all there.

Urgent Appeal – Cholera Epidemic

Urgent Appeal – Cholera Epidemic

Urgent Appeal – Cholera Epidemic

There has been an outbreak of Cholera across Syria.

Our partner, Hand in Hand (registered UK charity) urgently need your help to get the situation under control and prevent a widespread epidemic of this deadly disease.

There have been 119 confirmed cases, with 18 deaths across Northwest and Northeast Syria.

Cholera spreads rapidly in areas without clean water supplies and can quickly become a fatal illness. If there isn’t an immediate and efficient response to this situation, there will be devastating mortality rates in the next few weeks and the healthcare system of the region will be put under enormous strain, causing yet more issues for those living in the region.

Our incredible partner, Hand in Hand (HiHFAD) , has initiated an emergency response plan. But they need your help to get funds in place to ensure this plan can go ahead.

Their plan includes providing access to safe water and improved sanitation, as well as vital cholera treatment supplies, and engaging community workers to help raise awareness for prevention of the spread of the disease.

100% of your donations will go towards Hand in Hand’s work to combat the spread of Cholera.

Please give what you can today.
